Pre-chat fields
Dynamic questions before or during the first chat.
Each chat application can define custom fields in Dashboard → Chat → Application → Pre-chat fields. Examples: company, order id, topic dropdown, required email.
- Types include TEXT, EMAIL, PHONE, TEXTAREA, SELECT, and NUMBER.
- The visitor widget shows configured fields; answers are stored on the visitor record.
- When using save-visitor, send matching keys in customFields; unknown keys may be rejected.
Pre-chat fields are separate from SohojX Auth custom sign-up fields. Configure each product independently.
